Beautiful hand carved wood chess set in Staunton pattern, the international standard since 1849. Black ebonized stain and natural wood color probably boxwood or maple. Some wear due to age and use mostly noticable on the black pieces, no visible chips, original felted bottoms. ONE ROOK HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A SMALL HAND CARVED ANTIQUE 1.25" PIECE, NOT MATCHING.
