Let me begin by saying I've been playing chess for 60 years. I do know that our beloved game includes collectors of all aspects of the game be it the boards and pieces or the literature, This little gem should be of interest to the latter. There has probably been more written about the game of chess than any other game. This little gem is an example of early American chess literature (pre civil war). The thing that struck a chord with me was that it contained games of Paul Morphy and was contemporaneous with him. He was alive when this book was published. I think it belongs in a serious collectors library.
