The colour way mimics the classic box wood and ebony of high quality wooden chess pieces. These are far superior to the standard weighted plastic pieces seen on eBay, as much for their form, as for the moulding quality. They have a nice Matt finish. This particular Staunton design is, I believe, called imperial collector.
