Origin and History: Fanorona is an ancient game, originating in Madagascar around 1680, and is derived from the medieval game of Alquerque. It holds cultural significance and has appeared in modern media like the video game Assassin's Creed III. Objective: The goal is to capture all of your opponent's pieces or force them into a position where they are unable to make a valid move, resulting in a win. Components: The game is played on a 9x5 grid board with 45 intersecting points, using 22 white pieces and 22 black pieces. Gameplay: Players alternate turns, starting with the lighter pieces (white). A player must move one piece to an adjacent empty point along a marked line. Very good condition. Some fading to the box. Please see my other vintage games.
