In The Sheriff of Nottingham, players are cunning merchants who bribe and trick the authority into crossing the city walls.
Each round, a new player will be the sheriff, looking for smuggling.
If the sheriff registers the goods of honest merchants he will be punished
While, if you catch any merchant smuggling into the city, it will be that merchant who pays you a fine.
This 2nd edition includes rules for a sixth player, sheriff's deputies and the black market
