This chest set in a paper cupboard wooden box probably dates from the 1930s or 40s. There is no makers label or marks at all. The chest men are made from a hard plastic or celluloid. The board is made from wood. The whole chest set and box measures 18 cm² Apart from some torn papers both inside and some scuffing to the edges, the box is in good condition and the clasp is intact. The small ribbon at the back of the interior of the box which pulls up the chessboard is beginning to fray. There is still a small end of ribbon which can be used to pull up the board.
